CHRISTIAN STEWARDSHIP AND MEMBERSHIP

Each member of the congregation has two areas of responsibility: first to God (as a steward), and second, to the church (as a member). The first relates to the proper support of God’s house and the church’s work of soul winning. The second is the responsibility which each member bears to the corporate body. Membership always carries privileges and responsibilities. The success of the local church’s financial base depends on the membership accepting its responsibilities and participating as part of the group.
What is the difference between tithes and offerings?
Tithes are returned while offerings are given. Offerings are our response of love and gratitude to God’s blessings and goodness. In giving tithes and offerings we worship God and advance His mission to make disciples in the world.
How is the tithe used?
The largest portion of the tithe is used to support the ministry of local churches through pastoral salaries, as well as evangelism and additional services provided to the local church.  These funds are forwarded to the local conference by our treasurer and distributed from there as required.
How are offerings used?
An understanding of the use of offerings is precisely explained on the tithe envelope itself.
